I think the problem lies here. There are two types of newcomers.

I don't think there's a big problem in identifying newcomers of the "first category." It's evident from their reports, sometimes after their first post or after a brief interaction. Off the top of my head, I can name about 15 people who recently joined and don't seem to be taking the game seriously.
And if Avern has the time and, most importantly, the desire to organize such a tournament, let him do it, as long as he has the talent. The main thing is to help him. Yes, and I advised him to create a new topic (it's not quite appropriate here) and talk to the tournament organizers. If I can help in any way, I'm always happy to.
