Heroes 3 issues under XP or Vista.

my processor has only one core
I'm interested in:
1) where can I see if my system is x64 or not?
2) what can be done if the problem is indeed related to this?
3) what else could be causing the problem besides what was mentioned above?
I'm still feeling down :( ...
