I'm saying that you shouldn't confuse communism with social democracy. People live quite well, although there are still many problems. Even though it's the second largest economy in the world, you'd think they'd be doing even better...

The economy may be the second largest, but with over a billion people, that income is probably not enough.

In general, even if the Soviet Union hadn't collapsed, it's unlikely that it would be considered a superpower today, because the economy was in complete disarray at the time, and its rehabilitation takes a certain amount of time. In principle, at the moment, Russia is recognized as a great power, along with the USA, France, Great Britain, and China.

Besides, a country like Russia can't live in peace. Its vast territories and resources evoke envy in other states. If our government wants to maintain all of this, it simply needs to develop its army (and abolishing mandatory military service would be very undesirable for our country), its economy, and its geopolitical influence. The government's authority within the country also needs to be developed so that "enemies" cannot destroy Russia from within. And it's also good that Russia is now at least free from ambitions like a World Socialist Revolution.
