I don't know, I don't know, some people worked day and night, while others (and there were quite a few of them) came to work just to tick a box. Still, everyone is supposed to receive the same salary.

Well, by those standards, the USSR was a superpower, on par with the United States, while Russia is lagging behind. Of course, people are living better now; many years have passed, and people don't care about what the country is in the world; as long as they are well-fed and rested, they don't care; democracy is a paradise for them in this regard. In the 1980s, the second largest source of income for the USSR after selling oil abroad was the sale of alcoholic beverages to the country's population. But now there are terrible consequences, especially teenage alcoholism. The nation is slowly becoming an alcoholic nation, because an alcoholic nation cannot be a full-fledged nation. As a result, without any McDonald's or American ideology, we can destroy ourselves. But we can be proud that no one drinks as much as Russians do. It's just great.

I can't say anything in response; you're right. :) But if the Americans hadn't encouraged it, maybe we would have been able to cope with alcoholism...
