I think you're having a rather pointless discussion. At least, that's the impression I get.
I'll ask two short questions:
Wistrit, you're so defensive and praising of punk; I agree with what you're saying, but answer me this: how many good punk bands do you know that can be called musical in terms of lyrics, and where the music is composed of small details?
kj1313, don't you think it's unreasonable to label all musicians with the "post" label as virtuosos, just because they're "post"? I don't think there are many virtuosos around these days. Warlock, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian – they are virtuosos. Randy Rhoads too. Is it reasonable to call some guys playing in a new style and playing fast "virtuosos"? Virtuosity is not just about speed.
