The point of producing is that the producer decides how and what everyone should do, and makes adjustments. This is also the case in filmmaking.

I don't know how it is in filmmaking, but in music, it seems a bit too extreme to completely dictate how a band should sound, especially when dealing with experienced musicians and not just newcomers. So, it turns out that no band has its own style at all; everything depends on what the producer wants? Of course, he makes adjustments and gives advice, but it's unlikely that a band would work with a producer who disagrees with what the band wants to play. However, if an album isn't well-received, it's certainly convenient to blame the producer.
