I have the Russian version, although I could probably handle the English version just as well now :)
But it's better to start with the Russian version... otherwise, you won't understand much if you don't have a very good command of the language.
The main thing is to start, and after you get into the game (part 2), you won't be able to tear yourself away from Fallout) - proven.
