As I understand it, the game glitches even on licensed copies. And that means it was made purely to make money.

Please, name just one well-known game that isn't made for profit?
Nowadays, all games are made for profit!

Regarding the glitches, install patch 1.7 (it's 5MB) and the glitches will disappear. And this patch also fixes issues with the disc. ;)

I personally really liked the game, and you know why? It has an atmosphere, which has become quite rare lately.
