Can Necromancers even be defeated?

I don't really see much potential in winning with Necropolis without resources, with a minimum of resources, and without a bunch of easily defeated monsters. And since most scenarios have to be completed in this way, there isn't much desire to take the incomparable Vidomira. And in general, the very possibility of increasing your army for free is not a good thing.
