Regarding the deer skins: Elves are nature protectors, of course, but not crazy vegetarian suicide bombers. They kill deer for food, and within strict limits. And they wear the skins as cloaks so they don't go to waste. In winter, it's simply an indispensable thing!;)

And with hypnosis — just super! I'll have to try that sometime too! By the way, I apologize in advance to the administration for using an example from 3, but I had a case where I repelled an attack of 32 gorgons, 15 orcs, and 24 ogre mages with 14 centaurs and 9 master elves!
