Rap and its related genres appeared, gained popularity, but people didn't start listening to more music, which means that someone is losing popularity. And that's how rock is being pushed off the pedestal by new musical trends. This is like a natural phenomenon in music. Rock and metal in particular will continue to exist, just not in the same quantities.

And there will always be metal listeners, just as you can still find people who listen to the works of great composers, in other words, the classics (there are quite a few of them, in my opinion), you can also find people who listen to jazz, which was also very popular before.

Slipknot, Disturbed, Lacuna Coil, etc., also belong here, right?
