I haven't used hypnosis at all and I don't really see the point, except in rare, experimental situations. Also, I don't remember the hypnosis stats, neither from SoD nor from TE.

I agree.
But I've won/lost several battles because of hypnosis.
In the endgame, hypnotizing 2 phoenixes or a devil is a great advantage.
Turning them to our side on the first turn, and potentially blinding them, etc. Hypnosis is like blindness, but much more powerful.
