I suggest that using quick combat in situations where a battle cannot be won in normal mode (e.g., 1 hydra against a hive of 12 or 18 un-upgraded units) or is won with significantly greater losses should be considered a violation of rule 6 (a bug) and, therefore, prohibited.
I haven't had to use this "bug"-feature yet (because I can't build hydras on the 1st level in SOD), but I don't think it's something that significant:rolleyes:, game-breaking, or anything like that – it's just a feature, not worse than positioning 2-hex units on a cell further away with the Tactics skill on auto-battle... Let's ban all features – why be stingy? :) By the way, I can give a physical explanation for this "bug": the computer calculates that in quick combat, the hydra attacks all stacks at once from the first round and possibly is not weakened by their ability... The trick seems to be that the hive cannot be taken with quick combat if there are only single units! but with one hydra – no problem ;) .
