The hobbit Frodo was born in 2968 of the Third Age. Frodo was the only son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck. At the age of 12, after the death of his parents, he was adopted by Bilbo Baggins, who lived in Bag End. When Bilbo set off for Rivendell in 3001, Frodo inherited all his property, including the One Ring. Seventeen years later, he himself set off for Rivendell, after Gandalf the Grey told him that the Nazgûl would soon appear in the Shire. Together with his hobbit friends – Merry, Pippin, and Sam – and Aragorn, the second person they met on their way, Frodo reached Rivendell, although he almost died from the blade of the leader of the Nazgûl on the Weather Hills. At the Council of Elrond, Frodo volunteered to be the Ring-bearer. After the Fellowship was divided at Amon Hen, he, together with his faithful Sam, set off for Mordor. Overcoming many difficulties and almost dying, with the help of Samwise, Frodo reached Orodruin, the Doom Mountain, but there his will faltered, and the Ring overcame the hobbit's mind. If it hadn't been for Gollum biting off Frodo's finger and falling into the volcano's mouth, it would have been difficult to predict how the war would have ended. Frodo is the author of the second part of the Red Book. After the War of the Ring, Frodo lived for some time in the Shire and was its Head, but in 3021 Frodo gave this post to Samwise and sailed West. There are legends in the Shire that in the West he was completely healed of all the wounds inflicted on him by the Ring. It is also customary to admire the hobbit's resilience, as he managed to carry the Ring longer than the others, and it did not change him much. Although the Ring did overcome Frodo in a crucial moment, Frodo managed to resist the evil will for an exceptionally long time.
