The undeniable advantage of having Confusers in the Ruins is their psychic ability, as they attack without retaliation and hit everyone in the area. Also, Dragonflies, by frequently targeting a single unit, create a sort of circle, which is very satisfying to launch a psychic attack into.
There are 5 Psychics, and the corresponding increase – they enter the Ruins with maximum units... they receive 5 attacks of 18 Dragonflies each = approximately 300-400 damage, and at least three stacks will be weakened, and the Psychics will most likely only hit 3, or a maximum of 4 squads, killing about 6 Dragonflies at most... there's no point in continuing, as the weakened troops will, at best, trade for 12 Wyverns, which is less than half the army.
