The second week and the first day of the third week (days 121-131) can be conditionally called the “exiting the opening stage.” During this time, we must finally decide on the main hero, determine which troops he will take with him on the campaign, complete the construction and upgrade of these troops, resolve the issue of magic, develop a plan for capturing nearby territories, and a plan for the rest of the game.
The issue of choosing the main hero and magic was discussed in some detail in the previous chapter, so now we will talk a little about the strategic issues of capturing nearby rivals and the related issue of building up our forces.
So, our scouts worked well during the first week and reported that, after a formidable guard (a group of Cyclops, for example), within a distance of 2 moves from an undeveloped player or 1 move from a developed player, there is an enemy Castle. We see heroes with some troops emerging from it, which were previously frightening to us, but not now that we are armed with a powerful Strategy. And based on this Castle, we will build a strategy for the game as we exit the opening stage.
What needs to be decided:
1. Will we build the remaining highest-level troops (correspondingly, the sixth or fifth level, which we built in the first week);
2. Will we upgrade troops, which ones, and where;
3. Purchase of a magic book (2500 + 5 ore + 5 wood) – at home or in a captured Castle (500 gold);
4. Which troops will go on the campaign;
5. Will we ever return to the starting Castle;
6. Will we have to defend the starting Castle, depending on the most likely course of events;
7. Who will we fight after exiting the opening stage.
To be continued...
