This error may occur because the disc is damaged (scratched) or dirty. You can try wiping it, but it is unlikely to yield significant results. As a rule, some drives may be able to read the disc, while others may not, depending on the quality of the drive. As a solution, you can use a program for copying data from damaged media, such as Recovery Toolbox for CD (CDRecovery). This way, you can extract the installer from the DVD and install the game from your hard drive.
