What do you think about Linux systems?

The fact that Ubuntu looks similar to Windows is only because it needs to have some initial appearance. The Ubuntu maintainers made it resemble Windows to avoid scaring away users who are used to it.
As for the second part – regarding functionality, you're mistaken, and you don't even realize how much. You just couldn't see or compare its functionality based on its appearance.
