Sir, I bring to your attention that Crypts have a property: they cannot be scouted from the outside, and merging at maximum level (according to Murphy's Law, it often happens when it's not needed) with the remaining troops somehow didn't seem appealing; other priorities were found. A hero bought in the tavern cannot take a maximum-level Crypt, no matter what troops he has, unless it's Shakti with 3 stacks, and even then, it's unlikely in this situation.
