I played as Wistan a couple of times and didn't enjoy it. 1) The average number of gnolls is lower, and they are defeated faster. When attacking fast monsters, the losses will be greater. 2) What really bothered me. I think it's very important to capture Medusa Lairs in the first week; they are an excellent source of income for the Swamp faction. However, when starting as Wistan, capturing Medusa Lairs is much more difficult because there isn't a good stack of gnolls. But overall, the hero is certainly playable.
