Here's the deal: I won't delve into who acted unfairly. I'll stick to the facts: Pete sent me a message on ICQ: there's a contentious issue, they can't resolve it themselves, and they need a judge to intervene. I admit I made a mistake by not waiting for Forrest's response, but the situation seemed clear (and I still think it is). The rules state literally: "If the connection is interrupted during a battle, after loading, all moves of the battle are repeated as closely as possible to those that were before the disconnection." In other words, the point is to restore the situation on the battlefield before the disconnection. In this case, the loss of morale and luck makes it extremely difficult to restore the situation, which by the 8th round of the battle can change dramatically in the other direction. Part of the battle has already taken place, and it will be impossible to return things to how they were, because the random number generator will work from a new starting point, and morale/luck and damage will be applied differently. Therefore, we have to proceed based on what we have. There were 3 options for resolving the dispute: 1st: Try again, maybe something will work out in a day, if you don't completely fall out with each other. (And it's problematic because the moves probably weren't recorded anyway.) 2nd: A draw or a replay, but since the players have asked to have this situation considered, this option is unlikely to suit them. (Just in case, I offer them this option). 3rd: Disband the troops. This option is not optimal, it has drawbacks, but it is the most fair of the listed ones. The option of fighting again is not being considered due to its inconsistency with the rules. Therefore, the players have until tomorrow to either finish the game by disbanding their troops or agree on the 2nd option. A refusal will be equivalent to a technical defeat. P.S. The rule is indeed not perfect and needs to be refined by specifying all sorts of nuances so that players can resolve it themselves, without the involvement of a third party.
