Perhaps I'm repeating myself, but still... In my opinion, this tournament should be positioned not as a selection for the top 10, but as a World Championship. And by conducting it using the Swiss system, we can immediately determine the top 10, the prize-winners within that top 10, and the next in line. This would fulfill the goal of forming a team, and if, say, one or another player temporarily steps away from the game, it will be clear who to replace them with. Also, we will likely see a situation where players who have lost several rounds will still be motivated to play, because this tournament will reflect their position in the virtual ranking of players on the resource more accurately than the seasonal one. (I'm not suggesting canceling the seasonal ranking itself.) And, of course, it would be much better if everyone could participate in this tournament – both players from Baev's community and Portal's community, and those like me who don't identify with any particular resource. After all, their presence among the prize-winners and in the top 10 won't prevent us from selecting a team from "our own" at any time. And their participation will be more beneficial to the future World team. Closing ourselves off is, after all, a step backward, not forward, as I think. And there will be no need to hold a separate tournament within the top 10 later, because after 2-3 rounds, the best players will naturally take the lead in points and will play against each other and the strongest representatives of other resources.
