The "Boarding" map is good not only for mages. I really enjoy playing with necromancers on it. I place Spectres on the bridge, and let the enemy's heavy units miss them. On the other bridge, Harbingers also trap the enemy. You can't get close to the Liches (in my opinion, this is the necromancer's main advantage). Dragons and Vampires roam freely in the rear...
In general, the Obsidian Fields map is so annoying that if I create a duel, I change it 100% (unless I'm playing as Haven, of course).
