Everyone has their own preferences. I've always been interested in the storyline in Heroes. It's great to buy a book as a continuation of a series you love, but when it's completely different, it's disappointing. Old names appear, but it's impossible to understand how they ended up there. I wouldn't read such a book, or I would, but not as a continuation. The spirit of Heroes isn't a genre (there are many games in that genre), or the units, or the buildings. The spirit of Heroes lies in the storyline (in my opinion).
