It is quite possible to do without land plots. Cities that can be upgraded are practically the same thing. It is necessary to determine what the money will be needed for, and then think further. Either it will be upgrades, or special items, or decorations for the user profile, or all together. It is necessary to know the opinion of the portal administration, what they want. Then it will be possible to conduct a discussion already having a basis.

The advantage of cities is that they are the easiest to understand, at least the essence of the idea is clear, while land plots offer some kind of infighting, I don't understand why this is needed.
Money will be needed to upgrade cities, buy titles and artifacts. As for decorating the profile, I suggest developing a system of city levels and their appearance, and replacing the icons of the faction cities with the user's city, in accordance with its level.
Of course, the opinion of the administration is necessary, otherwise we are all writing here, but we don't know if we are going in the right direction.:cool:
