This wasn't invented by Americans. It's an ancient Chinese stratagem... I think it's called that. There are 32 stratagems in total, and they were created in China 2000 years ago. And Chinese philosophers weren't stupid.

Maybe, but I think it's silly to speculate about fantastical situations that will never even arise. I don't take it seriously, in general. Or maybe my way of thinking doesn't allow me to see beyond the horizon to predict everything.
By the way, I didn't say that Americans invented it; I just saw it in a game and a movie.
