Ugu Ar, the "enemies" destroyed the village while trying to get the oil, and they won't be able to handle the deserters, especially since it's unlikely that everyone will have a weapon :)

well, anything can happen... it's still the same as staying in the village and trying to fight back (in case it works) or sending them into the forest, trying to escape (and suddenly you meet some help or find shelter)... in general, anything can happen =) and it's not a fact that by leaving the weak behind, you'll save the strong and save yourself)
if death awaits us, let it be a worthy one) it's better to die as a hero than to live as a slave! (or is that how it goes? X))

for a very long time?).. wouldn't it be better to just kill yourself right away?))) and again, where is the certainty that the main cause of death will be hunger?.. maybe you'll go into the jungle and accidentally get killed there x)
