Continuing the duel of Fortress vs Castle :) here I lost to the Griffin Conservatories. I went at them with 2 Dragon Flies, 25 Gnolls, and 23 regular Lizardmen. The plan was simple — to harass with Dragon Flies, but 2 morale procs in the second round and the Dragon Flies were reduced to just wings. I crawled out with 15 Lizardmen — bought 1 Dragon Fly and 4 Basiliks — ignoring the Troglodytes in the underground, and there were 120+ of them. I lost 2 Basiliks and a Dragon Fly... in short, I got upset and decided not to continue, although maybe I could have played it out, but we decided to start a new one

The draw was terrible this evening, but this generation was the height of idiocy :smile48: ranged units not built, very few of them, no Dragon Flies, no Restorers, but a specialist for Goblins came from the start and brought as many as 50 of them. Expensive slow units: 1 in a Griffin Conservatory and 1 on a Necropolis micro-respawn of 10x10 cells with 1 pile of gold. Guard: 80+ Dwarves with 18 Gremlins — no Wyverns — only 3 Dragon Flies total, but there are shock Goblins — we'll work with them — if the Dwarves get morale and the Dragon Flies die, it'll be another loss :eek: but this time it went through :o I broke through losing 3 Lizardmen, 10 Goblins, and a couple of Gnolls. I didn't know what to do next — one thought — surrender. But 2 losses in one evening is a complete disaster, so grit your teeth and play! I break through the guard onto the grassland off-road, assuming Valya is already running things there — I send a scout hero on a Dragon Fly — he collects gold. Wystan rushes up to the native secondary town again off-road.
117 I break through 100+ Griffin Fairies with the loss of 1 Wyvern :( Wystan is already on the native Fortress, but very far from the castle. The scout hero with a Dragon Fly spots an enemy scout hero with a Wolf and kills him. At home, it's tight: 1-3, 5-6 in the castle. All week with 4 heroes :(
121 Wystan opens the Obsidian — you can see the Griffin Conservatory and 3(!!) external Gnoll dwellings — still a day's run to the castle. Valya for some reason runs with all his might to kill my scout hero — loses a couple of tempo turns
122 Wystan lands exactly on the cell at the castle on a Dragon Fly and gets ready to check the Griffin Conservatory
123 Ranged upgrade in the secondary town: army has 55 Gnolls, 1 Wyvern, 1 Bull, 32 Advanced Archers, 1 Dragon Fly — the Griffin Conservatory is minimal! We take it with a loss of 20 Gnolls — fortunately they gave Pass Fight and we even advanced it. There's a tactical struggle of scout heroes at the secondary town which ends with a score of 2-2
124-127 Wystan on an Angel flies around the Fortress and tries to level up, aiming for the max Naga Bank
131 I break the max Naga Bank with 32 Archers, 120 Gnolls, 11 Wyverns, an Angel, and 3 Bulls, losing 30 Gnolls — I head to the Dragon Fly Hive for 49 Advanced Dendroids
132 +8 Wyverns
At that moment Valya came with all his might — I retreat home
133 Valya didn't dare to attack — so I take the Dragon Fly Hive with a scout hero and attack
Valya's Marksmen turned out to be just scouts compared to my Lizardmen :cool:
