Pashin's double build forced him to break on the 3rd turn and run into the unknown, while 9 angels were at least doing something. They met him hospitably in the swamp - both cities were almost taken without a fight, while Tazzar wandered around the treasure.
Everything was decided by scouting - it was possible to steal a max-level consultant right under Tazzar's nose. And the catacombs provided simply excellent artifacts - for speed, mana, and luck...
