I also started with Rambler ICQ 5.1. But after that, it seemed like utter nonsense compared to QIP 2005. Then I used Infium, and after that, I couldn't go back to the old QIP 2005. I recently installed a new skin for my Infium and got a lot of aesthetic pleasure from it :) For now, I don't have any particular need for various plugins, but someday I'll try your Miranda :)
PS And I also use Jimm on my phone :)

O God of Earth and Altar,
Bow down and hear our cry,
Our earthly rulers falter,
Our people drift and die,
The walls of gold entomb us,
The swords of scorn divide,
Take not thy thunder from us,
Take away our pride.
G.K. Chesterton: English Hymnal
