So, it seems they will work! ;) They won't disappear anywhere. Reinstalling doesn't help – I've tried it about 4 times. The game installs, everything seems normal, then I select a map, a hero, a scenario, click "load"... and "nothing good happens"... it loads more than half, then exits to Windows and complains – asking if I want to send an error report or not (what a dilemma!).
