Confirmed.
They really did re-style it until they were blue in the face, and even then, it only worked half the time – a deadly block at the exit. The last time it was easier – only 24 grade-vampires. I defeated them, explored the respawn area (it was awful), and couldn't find anything better than to merge with a group of storms, behind which were money and glory.
