New Year (2009)

As always, he arrives when he is least expected; he always does this to bring more joy to people. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, the forum will be empty, and everyone will go to their friends or prepare for their arrival. Some will decide to change their lives, while others (like me) will hope that things will become stable. Everyone will celebrate the holiday in their own way; eight times across Russia, champagne bottles will be opened simultaneously, and greetings will be exchanged. We live far apart from each other, but we have known each other for a long time. We are united by common interests, opinions, and even social types. This forum unites us, even though it is currently experiencing a period of calm; this is not important. It has given us many interesting acquaintances and emotions. I have known some of you for a long time; I am friends with some, I respect others, and some are unpleasant to me. Newcomers are unlucky; they have arrived during a period of calm, but this forum has always changed. For me, the fondest memories are associated with a period two years ago (I had a different account then; this is a new one), when the "Heroes 4" section was very active, and there were many pleasant people. Now, few of them are visible on the forum. Then, people changed, and there was a new surge, but I didn't even notice it, although the people who came to the forum at that time remember it well. Recently, one forum member said to me, "Thank you for Fludoskar; it was the best period of the forum." I never thought so, but exactly a year ago, there was a new surge of interest, and new people arrived, although I clearly remember that before that, people were saying that the forum was dead. Those people are long gone, but I can't say that the new ones were worse. Now, there is a new decline, which, as I think, will last the longest. The old people are leaving, and the new ones are not in a hurry to come. But be sure that this will end too, so there is no need to over-dramatize. New people are coming, and many of them have already become "our own" (I'm talking about you, people with nicknames starting with W). Just don't forget to post more often in the serious sections (the ones that increase the post counter by +1). You might be wondering why I devoted so much space to the forum in my New Year's address, but that's because it's the place that allowed us to get to know each other, and I'm sure it changed a lot. The day before New Year's, we still have the opportunity to congratulate each other. I probably won't remember everyone; I'll look at the forum's visitor list and congratulate them, so the order will be random.
