LOST

"Lost" is a cult American television series, a winner of Emmy and Golden Globe awards. The plot revolves around the passengers of Oceanic Airlines flight 815, flying from Sydney, Australia, to Los Angeles, USA, who crash and find themselves on a tropical island somewhere in Oceania, full of mysteries and secrets. Each episode contains both the main storyline on the island and a secondary storyline about a character at another point in their life. The series was created by Damon Lindelof, J.J. Abrams, and Jeffrey Lieber, and is filmed mainly on Oahu, Hawaii. The pilot episode was shown on ABC on September 22, 2004, and attracted almost 19 million viewers. Since then, four seasons have been shown. Currently, the executive producers of the series are Abrams, Lindelof, Brian Burk, Jack Bender, and Carlton Cuse. The music is composed by Michael Giacchino. Due to the large cast and the cost of filming in Hawaii, the series is one of the most expensive on television. Successful with both critics and the public, "Lost" averaged 16 million viewers during the first season in the United States. It has won numerous awards, including the Emmy for Best Drama Series in 2005, the British Academy Television Awards prize for Best American Series in 2005, the Golden Globe as Best Drama in 2006, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. In May 2007, it was announced that three more seasons were planned, with 13 episodes shown in the fourth season and 17 episodes in the fifth and sixth seasons, respectively. The series will end in the spring of 2010, with a total of 117 episodes. The fifth season is currently being filmed, and its three-hour premiere will take place in the United States on January 21, 2009. In Russia, only 3 seasons have been shown, but the general director of "Channel One," Konstantin Ernst, stated during an online conference that all the released seasons of the television series will be shown.
