P.S. A small hint for upgrading spirits: use them at the very beginning of the battle, while the enemy is still intact; then they get more experience.

2Kyle - if you set the speed to the minimum, I think it will be clear that you run past the third snake right under its nose and run a little further into the cave until it falls behind.
