I got three Barbarians in a row. I'm starting to chuckle and think it's fate. I even had the thought of playing as him. But I still asked for a restart. After that, everything was fine.
And in general, before balancing the Barbarian, you need to learn how to play as him. For example, Seaman considered the Barbarian to be quite strong on Iron difficulty. Chameleon, Mordount, and Gagatek performed wonders with Barbarians in the arena. Again, he's quite good on PlayStation.
This isn't about me, by the way. I play Barbarians quite poorly.
