Regarding rematches: 1. Not in this tournament. 2. It's all been thought of before. The system is called "double elimination" (Google it if you don't know) and allows you to win a tournament almost like in the Olympic system, with only one loss allowed. 3. If you apply this system in a single-elimination tournament, there's only one option: 1st and 2nd place compete in a match consisting of two games. The 2nd place winner must win both games to become the champion. Whether this is necessary or not is up to the organizers of future tournaments to decide. IMHO, it unnecessarily prolongs the tournament.
