To be honest, I don't quite understand the reason for the heated discussion. Both opponents are in the same conditions; practically everyone knows that there is no lumber mill or coal mine in the starting zone, so they should take this fact into account from the very beginning. I have played this map template many times, and I have also played it in tournaments with human players, but I have never had any problems with coal, nor have I had any problems with wood when playing as an Elf. Finding a lumber mill and a coal mine, or even more than one, is not particularly difficult if you set that as your initial goal.
