Anime

Anime is as multifaceted as all other animation and films. If I were to highlight some examples... I wouldn't say that all anime is like this, but series like Berserk, Ghost in the Shell 1-2, Hellsing, Ninja Scroll, Fantastic Days, Cowboy Bebop, and to some extent Gungrave, Last Submarine – I generally enjoyed all of these, to put it mildly (by the way, this is a very common word;)), although the hyperbole and extremes, as well as a certain concept of the hero's "coolness," sometimes annoyed me.
As for all sorts of children's cartoons with their characteristic "faces" and techniques, well, that's for a different audience. I used to be into Pokémon about seven years ago, but now I can't stand to watch it.
