In 3.1, due to the AI's stupidity against Summoning, any hero with a Crystal and enough mana for 2 casts tears through any number of dragons (except, perhaps, Emerald Dragons due to their initiative and speed, but even then, you can find a way) and takes Utopia of any difficulty level with a direct attack.
So, Orson's strength is not in quickly getting a Battle Standard.
