We’ve finally waited for the second clip from the album All Hope Is Gone :). The clip for the song Dead Memories. You can download it here. In my opinion, the clip is excellent. It wasn't made at the highest level, but the meaning is simply amazing; many people don't understand it right away. The song from the band's latest album, 'All Hope Is Gone,' was written by Corey Taylor. It describes his painful feelings for his ex-wife. The video was directed by Paul Brown and the band's percussionist, Clown. Comment from Sean "Clown" Crahan: I've been working on the direction and script for most of our videos since the beginning. It's not that I want to be a director or screenwriter. I'm just not interested in the ideas of outsiders. I'm not at that point in my career where I need to think about how we need crazy artists who will come and do whatever they want with us. I've always been the guy who wants to promote my tastes and opinions, so I decided to get involved in directing. For this clip, I helped direct Paul Brown, and he became the only guy in 12 years who looked me in the eye and said, "You're going to help me direct. You're going to shoot because you're really good at it." And the script for the clip is my idea. This is important to me because I feel that Slipknot should move in a different direction, not the one we used to. I treated "Dead Memories" with care; it's a very personal song for Corey, so I discussed my idea with him about all these rooms in the clip. I let him choose who would be in which room. For me, this is quite a big deal. I can simultaneously smell and taste what I see, the smallest details, and make small adjustments. It's an honor for me to help direct this video, and I don't think people have seen anything like this from us before. And here it is. It's here because the time has come. I don't want to waste time listening to what people think about Slipknot. We give enough. We give everyone a little bit, and they sell us, give us away. We do this because we want to push the whole world. And this is a very expensive video. In principle, it's a short film. It's a very expensive video, and many people thought that we were aiming for something big, and yes, we are, but we like the result. And the only goal of this clip was to help Corey finish "Dead Memories." He thought that his ideas ended with putting lyrics to music. And guess what? I'm going to hook nine categories of madness in your mind. This is art; who knows what it might mean? Does anyone care what it means? Let it mean what it means to you.
