Let's come up with an amphibian race!

Nowhere else to turn. I present the myth of the world's creation.
...The Void was everywhere, and nothing could disturb it. But then, Gara—the great turtle—appeared. She was a progeny of this void, but upon appearing, she destroyed it, for now the void was no longer empty. Having appeared, Gara paused to think. She was the only being in this world. She felt so lonely that she began to wither and die of thirst. And then she wept, and her tears became the Sea. Gara wept loudly, and her tears filled the void, displacing it. The Sea, arising from Gara's tears, was salty, as all tears are, and pure—as a tear. Finding herself in the Sea, Gara was comforted. And she felt her power, equal to the power of the void. Then Gara created the land, and so that it would not sink into the Sea, she hoisted it upon her back. Humans and all creatures were also created by Gara. But they feared the Sea and settled only on the land. Only the Neptunes proved brave. Now, alongside the great mother Gara, they swim in the Sea and help her hold up the world.
