That's a misconception. It won't pierce it completely, but dragons don't have four-meter-thick scales.

If you manage to pull it off, it's quite a sight – a huge ship chasing a dragon. Awesome!! X_X

Imperial fighters are much faster than your dragon ;)
Dragons are quite slow (compared to planes and fighter ships).
