Fantasy vs. Science Fiction

Regarding knights defeating dragons with ordinary swords... you can attribute anything to yourself, these "facts" are dictated by the knights themselves. Dragon scales aren't stronger than bulletproof vests?:rolleyes: Gremlins are quite the beasts, I think they can manage it:)

Dragon scales have a mirrored surface, so the laser will be reflected. Dragon ballistae are also just human tales. And a rocket barrage... well, you're not going to hit it:P, it's like shooting butterflies out of a bazooka in the sky.

In a sci-fi world that adheres to existing realities, the reflection of a laser from scales is unlikely,

Why is that? ;) if it has quite specific properties. The authors are irrelevant here; we're just discussing the facts.
