Fantasy vs. Science Fiction

Here, the situation is ambiguous. In a sci-fi world that adheres to existing realities, laser reflection from scales is unlikely, but it is quite possible in a fantasy world if the author wishes to give the dragon such a magical property.

Yes, that's true. But if a dragon can be harmed by a sword and arrows, why wouldn't a laser work?
In general, I'm annoyed that in many movies, books, etc., mirrors reflect lasers. IMO, this wouldn't happen; it's possible (POSSIBLE, I don't agree) that it might reflect, but in any case, it would destroy the mirror.
