I love blitz games. A random map of size S for 8 players on the very last difficulty level.
1) I choose the Undead, but not for necromancy, but more for the hero. Galthran is awesome. He specializes in skeletons. He can immediately summon up to 3 groups of them, with 20-30 units each. Considering that skeletons also have +1 speed with him, and +2 on their home territory. Hence, if there is a Dwarf stronghold nearby, I attack immediately (with almost no losses, using a strike group of Dwarfs).
2) When playing with friends, they immediately started wanting Galthran for themselves (because by level 20, the skeletons he commands have characteristics (attack and defense) like angels).
3) Due to point 2, another hero, Shakhti (specializing in Trogolods), was considered. He can summon up to 120 of them (up to 3 groups with a range of 30-40). And since we play with friends on the second-to-last difficulty level, I upgrade them immediately. The speed of the Fae underground!!!

PS And for fans of Inferno (although I sometimes enjoy playing with it) - it is objectively (in most cases) the weakest Castle.
By the way, there is probably one exception when Inferno becomes the strongest. This is when each opponent has several Castles, especially scattered across the map. Here, their portals simply make them all one, both in defense and attack.

And in general, my setup is as follows:
Difficulty: Pawn
S - Barbarian/Undead/Dungeon/(others)
M - Undead/Barbarian/Dungeon/(others)
L - Undead/(Dungeon, Castle)/Tower
XL - (Undead, Castle)/(Dungeon/Conflux)/(Tower/Rampart)
Difficulty: Rook, King
S - (Undead, Dungeon)/(others)
M - Undead/Dungeon/(others)
L - Undead/(Dungeon, Castle)/Tower
XL - (Undead, Castle)/(Dungeon/Conflux)/(Tower/Rampart)
No one probably plays on easier levels.
And again, I repeat, an exception is maps (L, XL) in which each player is given three or more Castles; in this case, Inferno will be among the first in terms of strength.
But everything always depends on the player's skill and the hero you choose.:rolleyes:
