Fantasy vs. Science Fiction

Wow. You’re having a strange conversation. Why are you talking about clichés? Maybe you should talk about bad fantasy or sci-fi? If the author is good, they won’t use clichés. Take Terry Pratchett, for example. Where are the clichés in his work? There aren’t any. And he writes fantasy. It doesn’t depend on the genre, but on the author. Although, there’s a huge amount of terrible fantasy being produced these days, so that kind of attitude isn’t surprising. Oh dear… Is the sci-fi world not limited by anything, but fantasy is? O_O That sounds strange. I’ll say it again – it depends on the author. The limitations of the world depend only on them, and only they can decide how standard and interesting the world will be. Why isn’t sci-fi limited? Because any kind of nonsense can come from space? Because any kind of mutation can happen? Well, you can derive anything from magic too.
