Technical issues with Heroes III.

I put 6073, 6667 and 47624 to trigger ports 2300-2400 and 28800-29100.

We didn't have enough time, so we just tested it like starting a game, ending a turn, another player ending a turn, etc... it worked fine. BUT! When we later started a game, and a turn was longer than 1-2 mins, the sending data froze again.
I thought that the problem is my router closes the port because it sees that there is no data flow. I got a program called PortTrigger, which sends data on the specified ports every 2 seconds. Still no luck, sending data freezes all the time. I tried changing the PortTrigger and Router Port Triggering options like I saw it on www.portforward.com, but I couldn't make it work.

I'm tired of the connection problem... I have the same problem as many others:
I can't connect with 101 people from my contact list, but I can connect with 132 people... I think the problem is in the router (because without it, I can connect with everyone - I checked). But it's hard to remove the router - it provides Wi-Fi at home - and it's inconvenient to run cables around the apartment.

So, I read about router settings. Opening specific ports for the game won't work - the game uses a lot of ports!
They say that only DMZ helps... but it doesn't work for me either - either it's glitching with Hamachi, or something else.

I think I solved the connection problem - at least I quickly connected and played with the person I couldn't connect with before.

The problem was that in the network connections, I had a gateway - Windows XP determined my router as such... and this gateway was filtering something... in the router settings, I disabled UPNP - this is in my D-Link, in the Tools-Misc tab.

And I set up DMZ to my IP. :smile44:
