Neither in Heroes of Might and Magic III nor in Heroes of Might and Magic V is there a feature where the castle reacts to the external landscape. Open the Academy castle standing in snowy expanses, and... what a miracle!!! Inside and OUTSIDE, there's sand!!! A desert!!! Or, during the same castle siege...
Perhaps in Heroes of Might and Magic IV, a particular building sometimes doesn't quite match the map's landscape, but at least in Heroes of Might and Magic IV, the castle's exterior never contradicts its interior.
