From the start, I had the Elf and Wingael. Of course, I chose the pointy-eared guy in the green robe! He leveled up well, his stats were much better than his opponent's, but he was 2-3 levels behind. He couldn't get Light magic; he only got it on level 19, which meant he had to deal with all sorts of nonsense while searching for a mentor and didn't touch any of the creatures in his starting town. His stats didn't allow him to defeat level 7 creatures! There were no resurrection spells in the castle or in the 3-4 libraries. He started searching in the treasure rooms and, thank goodness, he found one. He started clearing his starting town, then moved on to the remnants of the enemy's town. He barely managed to find a mentor; there was only one on the map. He forgot about efficient logistics and pathfinding, got a middle-level education, solved a secret, learned Forest Cunning, Battle Balance, and Forest Fury. He took Full Protection, Battle Defense, and Battle Precision, Elven Luck, and mass spells. By this time, his opponent had already retrained and was ahead of him in stats. A few days later, the final battle took place. Thanks to Divine Retribution, his opponent was able to deal good damage to my troops; otherwise, I think the battle would have been one-sided. P.S. I really liked the combined artifact, Lion's Courage (each time creatures have a positive morale bonus, the hero moves forward on the ATB scale by 10% of the scale's size. If a negative morale bonus triggers, the hero moves back by 10%). Wingael moved very often, which allowed him to cast mass spells, resurrection, and Divine Retribution quickly!
